While we're on the topic of consoles

Sean Buckley writing for Engadget:

We're not saying that hardware specifications don't matter -- they absolutely do -- but this time, the two leading armies are packing painfully similar heat. On paper, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 really aren't that different. So, what's going to win the war? Software, services and brand.

I've been saying this for a long time. Even though the PS3 outsold Microsoft's Xbox 360 globally, I think Microsoft won the living room.

The Xbox One might not be as technologically sexy as the Playstation 4 in terms of games, but Microsoft has really done a great job executing on it's television/film entertainment features. Something Sony continues to struggle with ironcially enough.
